I'm sorry that I've suspeneded two posters today, but it's the same old problem of them trolling about presenters/shows they don't listen to, and in the past that problem has caused very good posters to leave and not return.
I'll be letting Colby back soon but not Scott/Blighty.
Feedback appreciated as I feel bad making these decisions alone.
If ever things get real busy on here again I'll look for a partner mod

I'm only surprised that it took 50 posts by Blighty before his mask slipped again and he was recognised. In the meantime he gains the innocently placed trust of the forum regulars.
I've dropped in here tonight for the first time in ages and I had Blighty sussed within 3 posts on The Welcome Mat. Maybe the job of mod is for me.............. |

I presume Colby was suspended for being a know-all? He does seem to have all the answers... _________________ MiS |

I had Blighty/Scott sussed early on too, and many forum regulars will have also, but they are always keen to engage with Scott and I so no harm in the early discussions.
In another guise he was posting similarly on the Digital Spy site too until arguments started. Once he started his axe campaigns here again I decided to nip it, not in the bud, but as the flower was opening
Colby is activated again. We exchanged e-mails but I'm not sure if he's coming back. |

Anyone who joins, then posts 31 messages in one day, quite a lot of which refer to things we talked about on here ages ago, is almost certainly, up to no good.
Don't feel bad John. Bring out the Fuzzy Felt. |

I guessed almost from the start by the huge list of shows he 'listened' to as well.

John, don't feel bad, you have our full support. 99% of posters are decent folk, but just as in "real life" you're always going to get the odd "unhelpful" contributor, as the Queen Mum would have put it! _________________ MiS |

The problem, as ever, is that Scott can be quite a good contributor. Certainly lively. It's just that he overdoes it. |

Sorry, John, Fuzzy Felt, was a reference to a thread on the suggestions board a while back.

No, it was his predilection for sneaking into every thread reference to his intense dislike of a certain drivetime presenter - see the messages dated 8th June
http://r2ok.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=4546
On that occasion it was a little harsh on him, since someone else had mentioned the show first. However, the damage, as far as offending other members of the forum to the point where they felt obliged to leave, had been done a month previously.
As I pointed out the last time he was, under a different name, banished from here, his technical knowhow is actually quite valuable and interesting, but his way of presenting it and arguing his opinions is a bit overbearing. _________________ Ron |

Eh? I suggest you ask Admin to dig into the registration data and compare IP address clusters, ISPs, email info, etc.

Not quite. I just haven't logged in for a while. Sorry to disappoint. And I rarely called THAT presenter "the unmentionable one" - it was more likely to be "the insufferable one" which I feel to be more apposite.
Meanwhile, thank you folks for your kind comments. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

He's not marked down as a 'Guest' in this thread http://r2ok.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1303 which I think he would be if he was completely deleted from this forum, so I think he could come back if he wanted to. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I don't think John ever deleted or suspended his membership (there was no reason to), so it's still open and he can post as and when he chooses. And, of course, there's nothing to stop him browsing without logging in. I bet he does......! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

Yes Ernie was a good guy-I really liked him although we occasionally clashed re the subject matter of Richard Allinson.
I sincerely hope though he reappears on here one day-this board would be a better place for his active involvement.
Come on Ernie-rejoin our family. |
