Because of this...
"We found that Radio 2's under-35 audience did grow significantly between 1999/00 and 2004/5 (albeit from a low base). However, over the past five years, the age profile of the station has remained stable and there's been no increase in reach to under-35s. In fact today, more than eight out of 10 Radio 2 listeners are over 35 and the average age of the audience is 50.
...it is likely the trust will seek to protect the station's appeal to older listeners and ask the executive to ensure that the average age of listeners does not fall."

They won't be able to maintain the present average age unless they hold on to the TOGs at breakfast. |
