That's dead right... On Eastser Monday.. you should lay in bed til 10 ish ...then half get to fry everything you have in the fridge .. then Brunch till 11-30 ish... stuff the remainder of any Easter Eggs you have left. then .... hit the out of town shops to walk off the fat fest... pausing only to walk into a Macdonalds dive thru... so you can top up on stuff that will bring this pain we call life to a premature end.

Well iin that case they should be working, not listening to the radio. Wink

Why on earth does a show have to have a label attached to it anyway? Do you listen because it's called Breakfast? Rolling Eyes

I've always thought it ludicrous...people have their meals at different times, so one person's breakfast might be during Sarah's ahow and another's would be whilst Ken is on.

" Would normally listen to this great presenter who isn't a celebrity with superb non playlist music but it's on much too late "..... show.

Why or why do we have to have the dire Ken Bruce forced onto us over Bank Holidays.

I would like to hear somebody else in the slot on Good Friday.

Anyone who thinks Ken Bruce is "dire" clearly has a skewed concept of what good broadcasting is all about: excellent knowledge (in this case, of music) warm empathy with the audience and a sense of humour. What's not to like?

So, apart from Sarah on the i-player (when they can be bothered to put it on Rolling Eyes ) there'll be no Radio 2 at all that week.

Ken has a nice self-deprecating sense of humour. I like him, even though I don't get listen that often. I'd like the music to be a bit less focused on the same few rotated songs, though. The annoying R2 playlist seems to be imposed on Ken's show more than anyone else's, it would seem.

yes I do, but I have a lie in as I would suspect many others do on a Bank Holiday. So you don't need a so called 'Breakfast' show starting at the usual time.

Richard Allinson seemed to like the new breakfast times. I would think it was more like a mid- morning show. Ken Bruce seemed in his voice at the start of his show to have sour grapes starting at 11am. I suppose it's a different idea which Bob Shennan has.

Great show delivered by Richard on Good Friday.

Question-Why can't RA be allowed to deliver a similar show on Easter Monday.

I think it sounds like the BBC schedules are wrong and that RA is due to be back on Monday at 7am. Chris definitely said on Thursday that he was away until Tuesday, and the Guardian list Richard for Monday's show.

I still think it's a disgrace that Bob Harris is on after midnight. How on earth can we have Liza Tarbuck talking garbage whenever you put the radio on, but you have to turn investigator to find Bob. Ridiculous, BBC.

Mark, you had your hero on before Ken on Friday which I'm sure you would have cancelled all other plans so you could listen to him during the daylight hours instead of the slots he is usually shoved into (ever wondered why that is?.........)

I seemed to remember you were "awarded" a ban a while back for your tirade against Ken Bruce. At least most of the anti RA posts on here amount to nothing more than "smug" and "cheesey". Ken Bruce is not dire and is in fact someone that RA could only aspire to be.

Some presenters invite criticism, especially the ones hired in the Douglas era but Ken is a tried and tested professional and more than worthy of his regular place on daytime Radio 2. Maybe when RA admits that he finally understands how Popmaster works he might get taken seriously and be offered a proper job.

Well said Angus. Ken is head and shoulders above everyone else on daytime R2 (mind you, that really is damning with faint praise!)
Long may he be allowed to continue.
