We all know there is no trains on Christmas Day, but is it usual there is no trains on Boxing Day either? There is a reduced service on Bank Holiday Monday / Tuesday and New Years Day and 3rd January.
There is a lot of Engineering work going on over the festive period according to the national rail website. Who is using our wonderful train system during the festive period? Will you be on the last train on Christmas Eve or New Years Eve? |

Yes, there are normally no train services on Boxing Day, the only exception being the London Underground. Apart from London and the biggest UK cities there are no buses on Boxing Day either.
I've never had to use our "wonderful train system" over Christmas and New Year. Long may that continue. _________________ Ron |

There are threatened strikes on Northern Rail on the Bank Holiday Monday & Tuesday because the workers aren't getting double time. |
