Anyone else using Microsoft Outlook 2007 for e-mail?

I avoided Outlook until now. When I replaced my hard disk I wanted to re-install my old e-mail program but my e-mail provider Demon didn't like that I had changed my ISP to BT Broadband, and wanted to charge me 200 quid to redirect my Demon POP3 mail to BT blah blah.

So I started up Outlook 2007 from my Office package and the nice BT man in India took over my PC and set up Outlook to receive my POP3 from Demon.

Anyway that's not why I'm posting this thread Rolling Eyes

Been using Outlook 2007 for a month now.

But Outlook 2007 is a bit annoying.

I've created folders with rules so that certain incoming mail gets filed appropriately, just like I was doing with the previous program I used (Turnpike).

Other folders I can't be specific with rules so I drag mail from Inbox into them to read later, just like I was doing with the previous program.

The annoying thing that happens is: I drag a message from the inbox to a folder and, sometimes, in the Inbox the message BELOW suddenly shades to indicate it has been read when it hasn't.

and sometimes I open a message in the Inbox and the message BELOW suddenly shades to indicate it has been read when it hasn't.

For a time I wasn't aware this was happening and so some mail in my inbox got ignored for days because I thought I had read it Rolling Eyes

Anyone get similar things happen?

Outlook is appalling - and a security risk. Why not use Windows Live Mail instead - or, better still, Mozilla Thunderbird?
