An adaptation of Herman Melville's classic tale is to be heard on Radio 4

Listening to Ishmael's description of what is to be got from a whale for commercial purposes is almost worth listening to this alone.....honest!... Smile ..sounds a bit grisly I know but the language is beautiful....

Thanks Becky

My favorite book when I was younger, Gregory Peck as Ahab scared the hell out of me the first time I saw it. Saying that he wasn't overly un creepy as the priest in the TV series made in the 90's.

I will save that link ta

Enjoyed this production...the sound effects were so good I felt I was on the The Pequod at times.... Shocked

Years ago I was given a book, Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund, which tells the story of Ahab's wife.....

Inspired by a passage from Moby Dick, Sena Jeter Naslund tells the riveting tale of Captain Ahab’s wife. The novel artfully chronicles the childhood, personal struggles, adventures, and intellectual endeavors of this 19th century woman. It serves as both a poetic treatise on the meaning of life and a commentary on important social issues of Melville’s time.
