Sprinklers came on during the Birmingham V West Ham match. The groundsman turned them off, before soaking some of the players. I noticed that they come up from under the pitch. Did anyone see this on Match Of The Day?

I've heard of a flat back four and even a fat back four but never a wet back four
Had the match been played at West Ham I dare say people might have suspected sabotage Shocked

Happens quite often Mark but not on MoTD

I've seen it happen twice at Coventry recently, but of course they're not on MoTD these days.

Most quality grounds have a network of pipes supplying the sprinklers. At some grounds the sprinklers are often turned on at half time, on just one half of the pitch. The groundsman and coach work out if there may be an advantage to wetting up their half or the opponent's half, and the boys wearing appropriate type of studs.
