Is this her tribute to Laura Nyro's Wedding Bell Blues? It sounds like it. I heard this on Richard Allinson's show (15/11/10). _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

I thought there were similarities
I like Rumer even if she is a bit overplayed on Radio 2 _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I haven't quite made up my mind about Rumer. Sometimes when I hear her I like her then other times I think that she has very little depth to her voice and she annoys me. Having said that she is probably the best female singer around at the moment. |

Only in the background as I came in to make tea for the workers.. but she sounded good to me.
Did you see her on Strictly? My wife can't stand her "wobbly" voice, but I lke her and she sure can sing! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Sorry Santa I'm not a fan of Strictly or the X Factor but I'm sure Amy Duffy would be an excellent participant as from what I know of her she seems a very lovely kind and intelligent lady
And as you say what a lovely and unusual voice

This is still my favourite Duffy track, probably because it wasn't done to death on the various radio over-play lists. The excellent 'Rockferry': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zQP6vgWiek _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Rockferry is indeed a great song, in fact the whole CD is pretty good.
I like her voice and she is obviously talented. Also very charming when interviewed by KB this morning. |

Thanks for posting the link LEE.. I hadn't seen the video before.. ( bring back Top of the Pops! I miss things like this.) Really good.
Whilst on YouTube, I strayed onto Well, Well, Well and, "The Making of Well, Well, Well".... I like the dress!
It seems like she's dropped the two blonde backing singers from her line up which I think is a shame.. they went well together.. (No pun intended.. ) _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Sorry boys but in my opinion almost anyone is better than Duffy. She comes from the stable of wailing female "singers" like Adele and I cannot abide them |

I like Duffy. I think she's fab - especially when compared with what comes off the X-factory assembly line (I'm thinking of the likes of Leona "Let's whinge about how bad life is" Lewis here, of course).
At least Duffy is getting up and doing her own thing with some energy and individuality. That's surely to be encouraged. She didn't need the X-Factory to get there, either. |
