According to "Campaign" magazine (read by advertising, marketing and PR people) ITV Plc cleared almost £25 million in advertising and sponsorship over the weekend of the X-Factor finals, with EACH 30-second advertising spot in the finals selling for an average of £250,000. Yes, you read that correctly - each.

Spots in the live version of Coronation Street were reportedly selling for £100,000 each, with ad agency bidding taking place right up to within a few minutes of transmission.

Somebody's watching - and somebody needs to reach those viewers!!!

it's a real turn around to where ITV were a few years ago where their viewing figures were taking a tumble.
It's just a shame that they only seem to have three shows Corrie, X factory and BGT. Saying that they don't have to worry about it too much if the mioney is coming in. On the odd occasion I have seen the X show I couldn't believe how frequent the ad breaks were, one song then break

It got to me when that DFS ad with the Saturdays' 'Just Can't Get Enough' on kept coming up on the breaks during Coronation Street!

I think buying sofas were the last things on the characters' minds! Unless the Trafford Centre had a sale on which led to the crash.
