Quote: | Tobacco displays in shops will be banned in England as part of a package of measures to discourage smoking. |

It was a Labour idea in the first place.

It's a completely pointless proposal which will do nothing to reduce the number of people smoking
If a person is hell bent on buying cigarettes putting them under the counter in a plain packet will in no way dissuade them
This scheme will simply end up costing lots of money which could be put to far better use by funding education programmes to get across to young people and others the dangers of smoking in the first place
I hasten to add I don't smoke myself but this scheme to me seems like a PR exercise to keep the medical fraternity off the Government's back _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Mark, if you look at the first word in your quoted line, you'll see the correct spelling of the word "Tobacco".
And what does your subject header mean, exactly? Are you talking to me? |

I've never displayed tabacco or tobacco in my life, so how can I stop now? _________________ MiS |

I think it will have the opposite effect- anything that's a bit "under the counter" will attract weak minded fools. Smoking is no different to crime, if they really wanted to stop it, they'd make it illegal. |

Ha, ha, I'm thinking Mark is really clever or mischievous and just posts these typos to wind you up into a frenzied state, Colin, at which point you can't resist posting
Whatever the reason, it's flippin annoyin'! (Mark's typos I mean) _________________ -

Flippin annoying when you pass someone in the street who blows there smoke into your path way!! Next thing is tobacco vending machines will be removed.. Junk food, Alcohol and Sweets will be displayed behind counters Alcohol can cause serious problems. One thing is you don't see people fighting in the street outside pubs due to puffing on a fag. |

Well Colin I think George Bush might agree with that applying his usual Pretzel logic _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
