I know it's a few days away but the History ch on sky is plugging a week of programmes leading up to the aniversary and it got me thinking about what i was doing that day.
I was working at Imperial College in London and the only station we could get was 5live (Simon Mayo was superb)When the first plane went in i have to admit i was quite naive and thoiught accident but when the 2nd plane hit and it was obvious there was evil behind this.we just stopped working and listened to the radio. There was about 5 of us and it seemed so unreal and then with everything else that day we had all the scare stories about London evrybody was on edge.Awful awful day _________________ I found out how you can hurt an insect. It's the bees knees |

I recall watching the live TV pictures whilst trying to organise some very bad removal men to shift a very large bedroom suite - I think I could have done the job better myself
They made so much noise and caused so much damage it felt like my old house had suffered the same fate as the twin towers
On a more serious note I was in New York only a couple of weeks before this momentous event happened and I remember standing looking at the towers never thinking that they were going to be obliterated only about fourteen days later _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I was working for the Press Association as a copytaker (which had contracts with all the national papers to do their copytaking) so the phones were red hot that day. |
