I cannot believe a friend of mine dragged me away from Would I Lie To You to see yet another adaption of Hamlet, updated to WW2!
The best thing I can say is that there was a camera crew about, filming for either the Culture Show or Late Review. The worst things were that the orchestra had that 'fire in a petshop' sound about them, and casting a Japanese dancer as a Nazi guard belongs to the same school of casting that has the Welsh-born Catherine Zeta Jones and the Home Counties-born Honeysuckle Weeks portraying heroines from the North-East in ITV Catherine Cookson adaptions.
When the guards came poncing on with their guns I was reminded of 'Springtime For Hitler' in The Producers! Mel Brooks should sue and I hope Lemmy gets his memorabilia back! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
