I'm not a follower of cricket and don't generally post about things I know little about but as a proud Lancastrian I felt it only right and proper to congratulate my home county's cricket team for today winning the Division One County Championship for the first time in 77 years against all the odds

Apparently Warwickshire were the strong favourites but threw the title away after a dreadful performance against Hampshire and Lancashire hung in there more in hope than expectation but it just proves that sometimes the unlikely can happen

I think it might be of some significance that owing to the current refurbishment of Old Trafford Lancashire have played the vast majority of their homes games this season at Liverpool where the weather is somewhat better than in Manchester and I bet it irritates the hell out of the Man United brigade immensely that the first time this happens in nearly a century the team is based in one of their most disliked places

My only regret is that I did not place a bet on today's result having just looked at the odds available at the start of the day but at least I've witnessed something never seen in my lifetime before so very well done to everyone involved Very Happy

Ruddles i love cricket and today was one of the most exciting i have known.It's great to see Lancs win after such a long time and i think i am right in saying the players are all from Lancashire.

I follow Essex but do have a soft spot for Lancs,they have had some great players and are a big club
