If there's a demise that's worse than that of of Radio 2, it has to be that of television. Watching (well not really, it was on while I was playing Sudoku on the Asus) last night's shenanigans, I despaired of entertainment in general. If it was c**p, dripping with celebrities from A list to Z list, and sheer drivel, then it had been voted a winner. The constant background screaming from the audience (perhaps they were trying to get out?), production 'difficulties' and Dermot's continual stumbling over the links were a disgrace. So dreadful, in fact, that it'll probably win an award.

Truly depressing stuff. Shocked

Yes (from what little I saw) it was dreadful stuff.

I think the quality of British TV peaked around 1973 !

Didn't I hear that Dermot O'Leary was hosting it?

That alone for me is a good reason not to watch it Evil or Very Mad

I'm glad I didn't bother but I watch very little TV these days.

Slightly off topic, but just caught up with Endeaver the other night and it made me realise how much I miss the likes of Morse and how poor today's TV is. For the first time I could see why people buy box sets of series to watch again!

I didn't see any of it but I've heard snippets and who got some of the awards... Rolling Eyes less said the better!

Funny you should mention it Helen, but for the last year or so, I've had my Virgin box set to record most of the old 70s/80s series and I love it!

I've "re-watched" all of the Professionals, Sweeney, Saint.. Embarassed yes, well, it's funny! and I'm currently completely bowled over by Minder..
I can't believe how clever the scriptwriting was and what a character they created with Arthur Daley.
Not to every body's taste I accept, but I can't get enough of it... both series too although I admit the one with Terry has the edge.
Good clean entertainment..

I think Hustle is the best thing around at the moment...
