I happened to check the radio schedule in my local freebie paper and for R2 it reads Feltz, Evans, Ball, Vine, Wright and Tarbuck. 14 hours that lot covers, and in some ways that I can't put my finger on, all very much of a muchness.

I was surprised at just how disappointed and sad reading that made me feel. I still love the specialist and nightime stuff, especially Bob H, but it rammed home to me exactly what the BBC see as the face and future of Radio2.

That list certainly isn't very uplifting, although Evans is absent and Richard Allinson in his place.

Must admit I have it off more than on a lot of the time these days.

Ooh er, missus! Razz

PS: Yes, I agree. The daytime offering of R2 is pretty dire - with Evans being the worst culprit but many of the others not far behind in serving up a bland and monotonous diet of pap.

That's a graphic image of Radio 2. Each to their own.

Correct. It is indeed a graphic description of what is undoubtedly a bland and monotonous diet of pap. Truly appalling for "Britain's most listened-to radio network". It really doesn't say much for the rest, either.

Still, as you say, each to their own.

No Colin, I think your description is absolutely appalling. You seem to know more about Chris Evans and don't even listen to the show? People who moan watch and read things - cause they wouldn't know what to write about. Wink

Mark, I think Colin's description is entirely accurate, certainly not 'appalling'.

Radio 2's output during the daytime Mon-Fri is indeed utterly bland, unchallenging, predictable and just plain boring. If Ken Bruce (or his pathetic 'producer') plays Leo Sayer's Thunder In My Heart just one more time I will seriously make a formal complaint about the drivel that's constantly played.

Ken Bruce and Gary Bones should be exited asap.

Oh really? Unfortunately, I'm bombarded with the sound of Evans' annoying voice all over the place and I am therefore constantly reminded of just what an irritating creep he continues to be.

So... I'm well placed to comment. And a complete childish pain-in-the-ar*e he still is.
