Those interested in the life and work of Roy Orbison might like to know that BBC Four is running a night of programmes dedicated to the singer this coming Saturday 14th July.
To cap it all, there's an old "Arena" documentary dedicated to Woody Guthrie - a huge influence upon the young Bob Dylan.

I saw all these programmes the first time (still got them on tape if I'm not mistaken)round but Roy is always worth a look and listen....what a voice he had and what wonderful songs he composed and sung..so very sad he died so young ..
Brian played Falling this morning on SOTS and Martina Navratilova chose Crying by him and k.d. lang as one of her Desert Island Discs on last week's programme, which I listened to this morning.
The Woody Guthrie 'Arena' programme is an excellent one. |

Although I did manage to doze off during both programmes due to being completely knackered (and under the influence of a couple of Friday-night beers), I have to say that what I saw was excellent! |
