Mark Goodier is to leave Smooth radio to spend more time with Wise Buddah.

I'm surprised as he was looking for a full time show when when he was working for Radio 2 covering after leaving Radio 1. Wise Buddah are expanding. So does this mean another radio voice drifting under the radar into production just like Bruno Brookes and Peter Powell did? I wonder if we will hear MG who 'plays the great music; - voice on the radio anymore? It seems also whilst the frying pan is also cold jump out before it get hot if Global take over?

Now that what I call... Goodbye?

Mark Goodier departure could mean either Pat Sharp moving to mid-mornings or a possible new voice joining Richard Allinson would be a good choice - if he was to leave Radio 2? There are whispers that Gary Davis could return to a radio station too.

I'd love to see Gary Davies back on mainstream radio

I used to listen to his Sunday Shows on Real Radio Wales before it became a national brand and enjoyed them very much Very Happy

I always thought it was a shame that Mark never joined Radio 2 on a permanent basis - I think he would be the perfect replacement for Ken Bruce when Ken decides to leave the mid-morning show.

I think Mark Goodier would make an even better breakfast show host. I've had the misfortune to endure the current incumbent recently. Well, a couple of paracetamols were required shortly afterwards. If the BBC must employ Evans, let them send him over to CBBC, where, it seems to me, he would be far better suited!

I put that to Mark when he left for Smooth. I remember he responded saying " He was looking for a full time show " Radio 2 couldn't offer him that at the time.

Yes, I think you're right about Goodier on breakfast. I have to say that I might start listening again! I can't endure Evans anyway as I've run out of paracetamol.

What a strange thing for him to say. If I were Goodybags I would have responded with "I am looking for another show."

Believe me, it wasn't by choice and it never will be! If it were, wouldn't that be tantamount to 'self harm'? Anyway, I now feel vindicated.

And I guess Smooth was able to offer him just that.

Maybe he will end up on R2 say doing a weekly/weekend show which he could do in tandem with spending more time at his production company.

The really ironic thing about all this is that Mark used to cover Ken's show superbly but because of the stupidity of the BBC in not retaining him he now directly competes against Ken's show with his show on Smooth

Whilst I normally listen to Ken's show if Zoe Ball or others are covering for me Mark is a far better option

I'd love to see him back on Radio 2 Smile
