About time too. I hate people slowing down and watching what they can see on the other side of the road. That can cause more accidents. Looks expensive too.

Yeah, and when they've driven past it, still doing 40mph, they will slow down to look in their side mirror or look over their shoulder...... and bash into the car in front. _________________ -

I think we should have them as a permanent fixture on the M62 between 26 & 27 and any other blackspots. |

As a non-driver myself, I get quite cross at these people who accuse passing drivers of "rubbernecking". Is it not natural caution, and good sense, to slow down when passing the scene of an accident, in case there's any debris on the road, which may need to be avoided, rather than damage one's own car or, indeed, which might be flipped up, as a stone is, into the path of other motorists, or the crash scene itself, if you pass by at speed? _________________ Ron |

I've never come across the "problem" when we're on the opposite side of a dual carriageway. We have been in a queue of slow moving traffic passing an incident in the first lane and hard shoulder of the same carriageway and had a policeman scowling and gesticulating at us. _________________ Ron |

These screen things are ... interesting, where will they keep them? Are they going to be big fold up things? On a truck(s)? What if it's really windy? Won't they blow away and cause more accidents? What if there's not enough screens to go around because there's more than one accident at the same time. What about the new phenomemon - screen chasers...? Oh read the link Rachel.... I see the screens now... hmmmmmm , I think if I was in an accident I'd rather being getting help from the emergency services than watching them them put up screens so no one can see me die. |
