Why would a burglar lock themselves in the bathroom, asks prosecuter. Says indicates that alleged murder was pre-planned?

Sorry but I just don't buy this man's defence in any way

If your girlfriend was sleeping with you and you went out of the room for any reason why on earth would you assume that the bathroom was occupied by a burglar - even allowing for the violent society prevalent in South Africa Confused

Wouldn't any reasonable person think that he'd disturbed her sleep and that having woken her completely unnecessarily it would be quite likely she might go to the bathroom

Either the man is a complete idiot or a scheming killer and I know which view I believe Sad
