Who, you might say? Here is his obit from the Daily Telegraph. It was given a prominent place on the obits page, with a lovely colour photo which is not included in this web version:

If you are a 7 Brides devotee, as I am, you might spot the error in the sections about the film!

The picture caught my eye the other day too,Eileen, as I wouldn't have had a clue who he was from just the name ..Smile

His longevity might be due, in some part, to him being active as a dancer.

The glorious barn dance scene from Seven Brides For Seven Brothers

I shall be delighted to, Becky! I first saw the film when I was 13 and fell completely in love with all the brothers - well, Howard Keel and Tommy Rall mainly. All their names became engraved on my memory from then on.

Matt Mattox played Caleb (correct) but he was the THIRD eldest brother, not the eldest as stated in the obit. They were called Biblical names in alphabetical order of arrival starting with Howard Keel as Adam, then Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank(incense) and Gideon. Frank (Tommy Rall) was naturally sensitive about his full name which gave rise to fights.

I could go on but I won't Smile. I still love the film as you can tell.
