The first youth police commissioner has been embroiled in controversial tweets she posted. £15K tax funded job is supposed to reach out to youngsters as well as working along side police the police commissioner.

I wonder what training or qualifications you need to become one of these? Obviously she's not all there in the language section. I suppose Ann Barnes will wrap her up in cotton wool. The job begins in the Summer.

Well, the postings I read were a bit muddled, poor language as you say Mark, most tweets are, maybe she was pissed at the time.

Anyway, this will be a high point on her learning curve, she should learn a lot from this episode and should publish some recent thoughts, somewhere, in better English, if she wants to show herself as competent for this position.

Whilst I'm not seeking to excuse such behaviour we are talking about postings when she was only thirteen and it does seem that she has apologised and perhaps grown up and learned a valuable lesson

This is one of the big problems in the age of the likes of Twitter and Facebook

I bet far worse things have been written years ago by teenagers in their diaries but of course nobody ever saw them - probably not even their parents - whereas now in this digital age they are open for the whole world to see

Personally I can't say I am a great fan of social media sites generally but of course such incidents give the silly tabloid press a field day Rolling Eyes

Paris Brown has resigned as the YPCC for kent for the ill judged tweets she wrote over the last few years. Ann Barnes Kent PCC said " She never checked social networking sites and feel sorry for Paris" This is right move, but she may have been hung out to dry. Paris is currently working as an apprenticeship at Swale Borough Council in Kent where they are investigating her conduct.
