Alex Lester is celebrating his 26th anniversary at Radio 2 this week. Yay! ! You probably won't know this but there was to be an enormous celebration last year for Alex's official Silver Jubilee but in a high level secret Government meeting the whole thing was squashed because it was feared that Alex's celebrations might overshaddow the Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, so instead, Alex was sent on holiday and the entire confection was shelved for a year. This year, it is hoped that Alex's celebrations will generate further economic stimulus across the UK, although this is expected chiefly in the beer and fast food sectors it should add weight to the Chancellor's claim that the economy is going North.
