Quote: | A proposal to end the criminal offence of failing to buy a TV licence is being considered for inclusion in a bill before Parliament.
It comes after Tory MP Andrew Bridgen's suggestion to make non-payment a civil matter gained the support of 150 MPs. |

Know one should go to prison for not paying their licence fee or fines.
Why don't the BBC give a decoder box to everyone and those who have Sky, BT etc they get a discount from paying a licence fee. Why do we need to pay twice when you can receive BBC channels through those providers. |

I agree that it is illogical for us to be imprisoning people for not paying their licence fee when we don't do it for non payment of things like electricity gas and other utility bills
Having said that I'm absolutely certain that if the criminal sanction is taken away more people will be encouraged to place payment of their licence fee much lower down their list of priorities
It's a difficult one for me _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
