Saw this yesterday because I wanted to see the play before the film.
Absoluetly wonderful. Very powerful and moving and I defy anyone to watch this without completely believing in the horses _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

My son watched War Horse on a return flight from the US last week and he said pretty much what you've written above. He thought it excellent, too.
I can't help thinking of my maternal grandfather who served as a Lance Bombadier with the Royal Garrison Artillery in the Somme. He praised the mules that hauled the giant gun carriages through thick mud but talked little of his other experiences. |

I saw it last month. Couldn't agree more, Number Six. Wonderful theatre. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

We're going to see it again oldraver. They're broadcasting it direct to cinemas. We're also going to see the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time though I think this is a repeat. We've already seen Helen Mirren in The Audience. Excellent way to see West End Shows at a fraction of the cost without the palaver of going to London _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

What a great idea ! I didn't know of such a thing.
By "repeat", do you mean it would have been filmed before the unfortunate accident? I think it must be, as it's resuming at The Gielgud on 24th June.
Must check and see if any of my local cinemas are showing West End productions. I don't think you can beat the real thing, but hey, as you say, beats all the palaver...and the wonga! _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
