Sad to learn of the passing of Dame June Whitfield. I remember her best from Happy Ever After and Terry & June. More recently on the radio on the much missed News Huddlines. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Yes, such sad news. I first remember her in Take it from Here, and she never seemed to be off the radio or TV for long and always turned in such great performances. There were so many moments to savour, the following from AbFab being one of my favourites:
Edina: "Inside me is a thin woman trying to get out"
Gran: "Just the one, dear?"
RIP, June. Thanks for all the laughs. |

I adored June Whitfield. She's always been in my life.
Aside from the many radio and TV shows she graced, there were some unforgettable ads, too.
This one with Terry-Thomas still makes me chuckle...

Very versatile. I seem to recall her being the villain in a Midsomer Murders. |

Like Raver said June Whitfield has always been there. Sad loss.

A classic one liner delivered brilliantly by Dame June. She really was a one off and is a sad loss to British entertainment.
R.I.P June.
I am listening to Strong Poison by Dorothy L Sayers on Radio 4 Extra and with this Sounds thingy the programme that followed brought June's voice to my ears...she is Miss Marple in They Do It With Mirrors...might have a listen to all of it. |
