Last night I watched the first two parts of this new serial about choreographer Bob Fosse and actress/dancer Gwen Verdon who eventually married. Her career had taken off while he was an unknown. It was excellent, really well done, so I'm looking forward to the rest.

It has left me with an earworm of "You've Got To Have Heart" from "Damn Yankees" - super performance.

I've yet to watch them , Eileen...all eps are on iPlayer. But I did, purely by accident, as I'd never heard of her , stumbled across this documentary on Gwen Verdon, on Saturday night. What an astounding dancer and choreographer. She was a beautiful human being, too, judging by this. Bob Fosse not so much, it has to be said.

I would urge anybody to watch this fantastic documentary.

Yes Oldraver, that documentary was fascinating and it seems that she was an extremely generous-hearted person.

Well I finished watching this tonight and when Bob died (don't think I'm spoiling it to say that) I felt not one flicker of emotion although the makers of the programme tried to tug at our heartstrings. I watched it through to see if I would change my mind about either of them (or should I say if they changed my mind about them) but I didn't. The pair of them were two of the most selfish,self-centred people I have ever seen. Maybe it's common in show business. They used and abused people all the way through for their own ends. They should never have parted because they suited each other down to the ground. I understand he was abused as a child but not all abused children grow up to be the monster he was. The one who came out luckiest,to my mind, was Gwen's son who she left with her parents as she followed her dream. Rolling Eyes We never did see him again so I can only conclude he never came back to live with her and her other family. Felt so sorry for their daughter.

Both children spoke well of Gwen in the documentary but I can only think they were brainwashed or money came into it somewhere . Very cynical I know but that's how I feel.

I couldn't appreciate their talents because of their personalities, which was a shame.

Terrific performances from the two leads

I see Michelle Williams won an Emmy for her role as Gwen.
