I watched One Man ,Two Guvnors last night and was crying, laughing,at some points.
Undiluted daftness.
During the lockdown, the National Theatre has come up with a novel way for the public to still enjoy the best from the stage. The best part of it all is that it's free to watch.
Every Thursday at 7 pm BST on the theatre's official YouTube channel, fans will be able to stream a selection of performances for a week.
The first show that will be available from Thursday 2 April is One Man Two Guvnors featuring James Corden.
The National Theatre at Home initiative has won praise from fans for being given the chance to watch the plays for free. But it's all been made possible by the various cast and crews of the plays who have waived their rights.
National Theatre at Home schedule
Thursday 2 April: One Man Two Guvnors by Richard Bean
Thursday 9 April: Jane Eyre by Sally Cookson
Thursday 16 April: Treasure Island by Bryony Lavery
Thursday 23 April: Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare

I've shown all these at my cinema and they're great. Treasure Island is a bit long but a spectacular staging, while Jane Eyre is really cleverly done. |

Initial reaction - didn't think this was going to be my type of production. That feeling soon went and before long I was lost in this very inventive, clever staging of Jane Eyre.
Excellent.
Was a little worried for the cast as they went up and down the stairs throughout the performance. |
