Hey guys,
We've been ticking along for quite some time now and just wondered how all of you are getting along.
Now we've had time to settle down, is there anything missing that you would like to see?

A more memorable domain name would be nice, as I always have to look this one up before coming here! I realise that may not be feasible at the mo, but something to look into maybe?
Aside from that, nice to be here! |

I just have the login screen listed as one of my favourites under 'Radio Stations'. I should have the login as a shortcut on my desktop but don't like it too cluttered. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Hi Simon,
The domain name is a mouthful (free ones are) but even in an Internet cafe there is a more memorable route to it:
http://www.r2ok.co.uk/
There's a link on the main page (R2ok! Chat Room)

I think there is scope for a sport forum but I'm not sure what anyone else thinks. |

Sorry Mark, I'm not sure I understand you.
A screen saver is used on YOUR computer operating system and not a forum. I have never in my life seen a screen saver used on a forum and I've used a lot of them, but there might be some exception to the rule somewhere.

No sports please.
1) I log on whilst my dearly beloved is watching it (sport that is).
More to the point:
2) I used to belong to a really good expat website that decided to incorporate a footie thread. Got spammed to death within a couple of moths, or even months. I think they go for football club mentions then link them up to drugs, what was offered on the spam would make R***** W******s an amateur. |

Good point iknew,
soon Google will pick up words on this site and so far I would say it will attract mainly Radio 2 fans

Cor blimey John, do you think I should start mentioning Phyllosan
( fortifies the over 40's or was it Sanatogen) on behalf of us all?
Maybe we could get a job lot!
What on earth was it anyway?
Poss new thread here. |

What - the board logo top left? Clear out the cache in your browser and reload the page. The cache itself is probably full and therefore accepting no more files.

Ella,
You mean the Temporary Internet files? Yeah that's emptied regularly. I open new pages every day and see all their images.
Just searched. There's several folders named Cache, the biggest one is 29MB but that's Adobe.

Not sure if I'm on the right wavelength here but have you tried a disclean programme? I've got Clean Up on mine and use it every few months. The first time it found 4GB (accumulated over several years) and I emptied Temp files weekly.
Just make sure you have all your passwords to hand as some may need re entering next time you go on to various sites.

Thanks Helen.
I do have a problem with my Windows XP though. Ever since we installed BT Broadband there was always a mix up of internet pages some linked to BT account and some not. Finally one day my lad logged off improperly and now everytime we switch on the computer it has the user on a temporary profile only, which means I have to re-set the dates in English, re-set the printer settings, re-set the internet settings, have no recent browser history, have to remember (or check my wee book) for all passwords. What a drag.
Apparently something called User Profile Wizard 2.5 will probably sort that little mess, but I'm waiting to find someone who has used it successfully before I give it a go.
Anyone had the same problem?

The recent posts seemed to be crying out for a new forum topic:
How to deal with PC problems.
If there are people like Ella S who can help and seem to have tech abilities light years ahead of many, may be a good idea?
I :oops! remember the day after I got my first laptop, just about to take it back, shouting for the return of my money when someone suggested I plugged it in to get the battery charged.
No wonder I want to track down the makers of Phyllosan |

Iknew, You may be beyond the help of Phyllosan, might I suggest Ginkgo Biloba (does wonders for the brain, but is useless at helping me spelll) _________________ Geddon

I think that's a good idea for a forum, TTS, we could advise whats on in our own local areas, maybe?

What about a live gigs forum, we could post what live music, of any "genre", is on in our own local area, not just the major shows, but mainly local performers.
