What the hell is going on at Radio 2 this is why I've switched now. I had switched to Simon Bates Breakfast ages ago and Smooth, Heart Or Magic.
This week the station is desperate and dragged in Patrick Kietly and next week 29th October Vanessa is covering Jeremy Vine again - whilst Anneka Rice is covering Early Breakfast and Rhod Gilbert is covering Steve Wright. ( Rhod is ok is small doses, but the whole week, please )
Apart from Vanessa - Where are the bosses getting these ideas to get those others to cover shows? It's becoming a joke. |

Shennan is clueless. Easy solution - do what I do and don't listen! Radio 4 was great this morning and Radio Caroline sounded great (lots of brilliant music - new bands and old making a perfect mix) as it streamed into my office via the Gear4 dock!
There is so little to attract me to R2 these days so for much of the day I just don't bother. |

All that was needed is for Paddy to cover the Vine Show and Richard Allinson to cover in the afternoon
Simples - as the saying goes and yes an intelligent meerkat probably would do a far better job of things than the clueless Mr Shennan _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Now you're talking! I have an idea - the Meerkats Do Breakfast! Now that really WOULD persuade me to tune in! |

Even though Smooth have changed they got professional DJ's. I can't understand why they just don't stick with normal cover like Richard Allinson, Zoe Ball and Chris Tarrant etc. I suppose the station doesn't want a Daily Mail spread saying 'they are better cover just like Mr Allinson got a few years back'? |

The station (and others in its stable that share its server system) really is living up to its real name - Bland Radio. |

It's half term Mark, nothing more nothing less, and it happens 3 times a year! Vanessa often covers for Jeremy Vine. I guess he was at the Radio festival (or whatever it was called) last week and no doubt his kids have half term next week (it's this week in our area).
Don't like some of the stand ins but I can listen to Patrick Kielty and Michael Ball on Ken isn't too bad.

Rhod Gilbert? well if yesterday's performance covering for the magnificent Steve Wright was anything to go by, I'll give Boxing Day a miss for sure
Honestly, I couldn't believe my ears listening to his amateurish performance, coughing and spluttering his way through the show... then Sally Traffic broke out into a coughing fit too!
Sorry, if I was in control of Radio 2, I'd boot him out the door....
then I'd sack Dermot O'Leary _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I told you all that weeks ago - I've had the misfortune of hearing him on BBC Radio Wales _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Must have been when I was away Ruddles, I did hear him comment about Radio Wales though.

Yes now that you mention it Helen I think it was while you were away - he sat in on the Dermot O'Dreary Saturday Show :
Mind you even he is not for me anywhere near as bad as Patrick Kielty _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
