Quote: | With the excellent news that Tony Blackburn is to be given a second life time achievement “Gold” award by the Radio Academy, I think they should have created a new award especially for Tony to recognize his outstanding contribution to UK radio, How about a new “Platinum” award?? Just for Tony the master broadcaster of UK popular radio!! |

Me neither, because he used to annoy the hell out of me when he presented the Radio One breakfast show. But was bearing a grudge - against those who sank the pirates and created Radio One as a pale imitation of Radios London and Caroline!
These days, I find great comfort in his cheesy style. He'd be great in the R2 Breakfast slot. In my humble opinion. |
