That's what it says at the beginning of the paragraph just above the R2OK! button on the home page, John! |

Has anyone told the Governor of the Bank of England?
On that basis we should be able to look forward to record low interest rates for at least another 5 years
And poor old Nick Clegg will have a further six years to get his act together before the next election - in fact he's not even in Government yet
And from a personal point of view we'll all look 5 years younger without even a hint of cosmetic surgery and my dog and two of my former cats will be there to greet me in the morning
I think it's a case of well done John _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Ha! That page was written when two specialist shows were axed, quite a few more shows have been axed since then!
With all the cuts planned for BBC radio I don't think there's any point in a 'campaign' to retain anything of the old Radio 2, except maybe hours of repeats (which might happen!)
Hmm, some sort of website update is needed, I accept. The Timeline page for a start, I have a list of new programmes and schedule changes somewhere to add to that. _________________ -

What I'd do if I were you, John, is port the main site content into a Wordpress site - complete with improved links to/from the outside world (eg: feeds, social media "pushes", etc.,) and then wrap the forum inside it such that everything is in one place under one banner. That way, the site wold have a better chance of being a "campaigning site and would reach a wider audience / participation. Just my two penn'orth....
And no, I'm not volunteering!!!!
Edit: I just realised you can't wrap the forum into the site because it's third-party hosted by Bizhat in India! |

LEE, yes I'm trying to timeline the changes to the changes
Colin, yes I don't think I'll be developing the R2OK site much with regards to BBC Radio 2, not while the station continues to become more a 'Radio 1 and 1/2'
(aren't Radio 1extra and 6music already doing the job as Radio 1 and 1/2 ?)
This R2OK forum, though active membership is low now, still survives! _________________ -

I think there's a good case for a more campaigning site, to be honest. Shennan gets away with it becuase he's not being publically challenged.
I'm tempted to set one up! (No, did I really type that?) |

Trying to get noticed, fans of lighter music did rely on the BBC trust in years gone by and that was futile.
Over at Radio 3, which is rapidly becoming ClassicFMv2 in the daytime, the Friends of Radio 3 (FoR3) are still struggling to make any impact on the station. Now, too many presenters have insufficient knowledge, and too much dependence of tweets, texts etc alienating traditional listeners - listener numbers have not increased with the changes.

The forum is very active, about 50 postings a day, often over 100 folk on line at one time.
