.....and I'll give you a carrot!"
That gave me a laugh today when Jeremy said it talking about children's sugary snacks and calories
Over the Christmas period I was surprised (pleasantly so) to see my 10 year old granddaughter munching away on a carrot in-between meals. She did have her fair share of chocolates/sweets as well, I hasten to add, but it was nice to see.
The chocolates looked much more appealing to me.. |

I have a large black cat who likes nothing better than munching his way through a nice juicy carrot although he does prefer them cooked rather than raw
I suppose it's not that surprising when you consider his name is Jasper
He does like chocolate but only gets it rarely as the vet reckons it's not good for cats
I'm just glad my boys are now grown up as I don't think what is being proposed these days is remotely realistic _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

The name Jasper always conjures up,to me, an image of a villain from Victorian times, with a tall black hat and cape running through the streets of London..twirling his moustache. .. ...perhaps your Jasper twirls his whiskers.. |

He is a bit like that Becky although I doubt he'd wear a top hat but over Christmas he did quite happily take to wearing flashing reindeer antlers - imitation of course - and only in the house where we could keep an eye on him _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

My son's dog wasn't over keen on the socks that were bought for her.. ...perhaps flashing reindeer antlers are the way to go.. |

Funnily enough being fed up of being stuck in bed all day I actually watched a very old episode of 'Heartbeat' this afternoon where Greengrass was playing Father Christmas - and of course his dog was dressed as a reindeer and guess what the dog was sporting - yes flashing reindeer antlers
I didn't realise they had such things 25 years ago when the episode was filmed and certainly not in the sixties _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Bill Maynard was splendid as Greengrass...near enough stealing the show every week. I've just looked him up on Wiki His second wife is Tonia Bern Campbell, the widow of Donald Campbell.
I don't ever remember seeing a family pet walking round in the sixties with flashing reindeer antlers...perhaps I didn't move in the right circles.. |
