I have just listened to an excellent two hours of Roger Day broadcasting from the LV18. I didn't think it would happen after recent events. I hope the programme will be on their catch up as it is worth listening to again.
Any Radio Caroline and Radio Northsea International listeners would enjoy it too. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

I'm pleased to say that it is indeed on catch up. Which is handy as I forgot about it, and only heard the last 20 mins or so.
I just scrolled through R2's offerings this weekend and Johnnie Walker has some cracking Pirate progs = some are repeats and some aren't, but they are superb, from what I can see.
Friday at 12, there's a JW and TB Sound of the 60's thing. But it gets better...JW will win hands down anyway.
Saturday 5am is a real treat for Robbie Dale and other Pirate lovers (wonder who that could be). A worthy repeat...

Another JW special at 12 (or is it 1?) This time about the DJ's who went to R1.

Finally, at 3am, one that is just about Johnnie and the ups and downs of his life. A must.

I should add, that those progs I flagged up, can be heard now and not just the unholy hours! _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

I heard bits of Roger this afternoon Angela and will catch up again over the weekend.
Thanks for the other shows as well Raver. I'd seen info on JW's life but not the others.

Thank you Raver, I will definitely listen to all of these programmes. JW was always my number one.
I am listening to Emperor Rosko on Boom now. It has been really excellent today. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

I managed to catch Roger Day's and Rosko's Pirates progs and I think I've finished all of the R2 ones now, though I might give one or two another listen before they're gone. I never realised that Johnnie was so spiritual. Good for him. And he wooed Tiggy with some John Prine. I had the privilege to be a few feet from the great man (John Prine), in a tent, while it bucketed down outside, a good few years bach, at a Finsbury Park Fleadh. It was truly magic.

The lovely Vince Power, who put all the Fleadh on over the years, passed away a few weeks back. He didn't make money on a lot of them, as he just wanted to deliver the best. And he did. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
