It's April, the month where traditionally Radio 2 controllers make the station just that little bit worse. Let's see what they're doing this year!
Michael Ball to become the Love Songs host Sundays 9-11am
Paddy McGuinness to replace Michael Ball in the Sunday 11am-1pm slot
POTP - Gary Davies is still the substitute with new presenter "announced in due course"
Shaun Keaveny sitting in for Mark Radcliffe on the Folk Show through April and May.
Thursday 11 April - Bob Harris celebrates 25 years of his Country Show
Saturday 20 April - Romesh Ranganathan starts his Saturday morning show (with guest Rob Beckett)
Judi Love sits in for Rob Beckett in April
Beverley Knight sits in for Elaine Paige throughout April
Tony Blackburn presents Sounds of Soul 12-2pm on the May Bank Holidays following by Jane Macdonald 4-7.
Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2 says: “These are changes that we’d rather not be making" Listeners may agree... |

They never learn or give a .... (fill that it yourself).
Paddy McGuiness. the Beeb already wrecked A Question Of Sport. He was okay in Phoenix Nights. Well, he didn't get in the way too much, while the rest of the cast provided the laughs. Why move Michael Ball?
I know that Mark Radcliffe is going out on the road with Lard, so that's why Shaun is on for two months. He's okay anyway. Should never have been fired from 6 Music.
Romesh. Is there anywhere he's not got his prints on? It's all a tad incestous. Not too shabby on the Weakest Link, though. But we're talking RADIO!
Ditto Rob Beckett. I wish somebody would, Judi Love...I expect this will be the start of a long R2 career.
I have nothing against Beverly, especially hearing her singing with Marvin Gaye on Abraham, Martin and John. Blew me away.
Anyway, just come on to rant and ridicule, which, thinking about it, could be the next double act, Watch this space.
The only saving grace, is that Michael McIntyre hasn't got a show. Watch this space. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

I agree totally, Raver.
Why do the same people get so many jobs - can't new faces/voices get these opportunities?
Happy to hear Shaun, still miss his 6Music show.
I hadn't heard that Beverley Knight/Marvin Gaye until last week. It was so good. |

It's a mystery, Red. Seems like a case of not what you know, but who you know.
Glad you've heard the Marvin/Beverley. My girls went to see Sister Act last night, which she's in, with Ruth Jones. They all had a great night. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
