I know the rule is you're not meant to post 'spamming' messages repeating your dislike for a certain presenter say... but what if you only visited the 'Gripes about R2 threads' for example - then would you still be thought of as spamming??
just wondering

It usually considered spam if the posting is not supported by evidence or examples but is just posted to wind people up and get a reaction. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Thanks for that. The mods and admin did discuss that one. For consistency of modding there had to be agreement.
The gripes section is for discussing the particularly negative opinions listeners may have about preseneters, shows, station controllers. The main thing is 'discussion' and that involves more than one person. Discussions are welcome.
For someone to just post repetitive I Hate... Sack... Axe... Boring..... etc or to repeatedly say CE should be doing SW's show etc., or to list again and again the 10 shows that they don't like is the sort of posting that historically has ruined R2MB and other radio forums. The Admin team and our moderators are all in agreement to respond to such postings, treat them as spam, and issue warnings accordingly.
I probably can't point to an example as most exchanges about spam and issues of warnings are deleted soon after.

Thanks Julia,
There are plenty forums around which let people rant repeatedly about radio presenters, and personally I think such posters posting on here are not actually posting to abuse presenters but just posting to abuse the forum and upset other posters.
R2ok hopes to be a place where the discussions are not ruined by cranks or trolls.

Well Said, John.
May these boards remain for reasoned discussion and informed comment.
