I sent Lesley Douglas an e-mail yesterday and I received an out of office e-mail advising me she is on holiday until Monday 16th April. Her note goes on to say "please refer to Dave Barber who should be able to answer your query in my absence".
I duly e-mailed Dave Barber only to receive an automated response back from his e-mail address advising "I no longer work for the BBC".
I give up. |

This about sums up the management situation at our beloved R2 at the moment; well look at the silver lining Mark, things seem to run better when senior management don't interfere.

Maybe he's there but not actually doing any work? Like Dermot O'Leary. |

Whos is charge? The producers, production staff, engineers etc keep the network on air. Lesley he there to organise the network. Maybe she's taken a holiday ready to be up listening all night to her new evening schedule change? |

Ian-Leave Dermot alone-I think he is doing a fine job covering for the normal wooden top Ken Bruce.
Dermot is being road tested for a slot in the daytime scheules mark my words. I'm sure he'll get one soon. |

Richard Allinson hasn't yet, as he's been covering for Ken and Steve. |

Mark O-Richard Allinson has not covered for Ken Bruce in a very long time I think you will find.
This is not a slot that "feels right " for Richard. He is much better covering in most of the other slots. |

I thought Dermot came across as a really nice guy, but he does seem to mutter and mumble a lot. Do speak up, boy! |

Oh I think Dermot is a nice enough person but I don't think he has the right voice for radio. |

It came to me when Dermot O'Leary was on that he sounds like Peter Baynham.
Baynham used to be on Lee and Herring's 'Fist Of Fun', and was the voice of Bob in 'Bob & Margaret' which Channel 4 have been repeating on Wednesday nights. I love that programme, but I keep thinking DOL's got a Margaret driving the decks for him and getting irritated with him when he does something wrong! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.
