Get Me The Valium are the latest culprits, or at least the company that runs the phone-in competitions for them:

An apology was read out live this morning apparently, according to R2 news earlier.

Having been crazy enough to watch 'Valium on several occasions, I'm of the opinion that anyone who phones in for one of these competitions deserves all they get. The correct answers are always so easy, it's a money-making con straight away - you can guarantee thousands will ring in.

Also more bad news for Blue Peter. Panorama will claim Blue Peter editor Richard Marson knew about the deception "within minutes of the programme ending". "At the time he was furious, but at a production meeting three days later he commended the researcher responsible for their initiative, and did not report it afterwards," Panorama said.
