As I hardly listen to any daytime shows on Radio 2 any longer, I was just wondrering whether any of the presenters have a long song feature in any of the shows.

Any song that ol' Wrighty plays is too long for me! I can't wait to get back to the old Frollocks in between.... Wink

On the other hand, any song Evans plays can't be long enough! Laughing Laughing

Rolling Eyes Ken plays a long song every day after PopMaster. It's the exact same set of songs that Richard Allinson plays - the only difference being that about 5 million more people hear them!

Ken plays some great long songs, all the way thru, just like RA does, even Radders played the short version of "Won't Get Fooled Again" on someone's CD CV yesterday. Much as I prefer Radders doing the 2 till 5 slot, I would have felt cheated if it had been my CD CV!

I think I can remember someone, (it might have been James Whale in his Metro Radio days in Newcastle) play both sides of Tubular Bells in the same 2 hour show.

Nicky Horne on his Sunday afternoon Capital Gold album show has been known to play tracks lasting 15-20 minutes. That makes Allinson seem tiny by comparison Laughing

Ernie-As a regular listener (everyday ) to Richard Allinson on BFBS Radio 2 I think he will very shortly play the full version of War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne on one of his morning shows-just a gut feel but I would place a small bet on it if I were a bettting man etc- sadly I'm not.

If you like the full album so much you may as well buy it! Then you don't have to wait/hope that it comes up on the radio! Or just make sure you sit by the radio with your hands on "play" and "rec" Wink

Seriously, I don't listen to the radio to hear complete albums from decades ago. I can do that all by myself. I listen for the variety and the hope of discovering something new.
