Pregnant women will get about £200 paid into their bank account to spend on healthy food under a government initiative, the BBC has learned.

From April 2009, expectant mothers in England would receive a one-off payment from their 29th week of pregnancy to encourage them to eat well.

Why do they keep throwing money at a problem?

Pathetic.
This must be the most ridiculous idea yet.
If they "can't afford" to eat well without a grant maybe they shouldn't have got pregnant in the first place.
Can you imagine what some young, unscrupulous types will do with this cash windfall? plus the other £500, a new tattoo maybe?
Does this government think money is the answer to everything?

As Mark said, You don't solve problems by throwing money at it!

Confused well sometimes you do..... particularly if they're my problems Laughing
