Enjoyed his show this afternoon. Seems like a nice bloke and professional with it. Some people make it look so easy, whilst others seems to try too hard and fail. Hope we hear more of him. |

Is he still the continuity announcer on Sky One?
There used to be a time when Radio 2 used a lot of tv continuity announcers. I believe Nick Barraclough, Charles Nove & Deadly all did tv announcing too. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Charles Nove did some presenting on TV as well, Come Dancing I believe.

I found him rather tiresome so put on Listen Again and listened to Bob Harris instead. |

He didn't sound that proficient during the first fifteen minutes that I listened in, although there was a wide selection of tracks, mind you. Was getting too close to local radio for my liking so ended up listening to Bob Harris on Listen Again (like Arcader!). _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I tuned into Shaun last Saturday. He was a vast improvement to the usual rubbish broadcast on a Saturday afternoon a la Dermot O'Leary.
I would welcome Shaun Keaveny to Radio 2. I was impressed with his performance. |

Liza Tarbuck was glowing about him last night for sitting in for her during her recent hols. I didn't realise he had left the Beeb.

Wow! What a jump, from 2007 to this year! There's a few names that I had forgotten about over the years. Who's replaced Shaun on 6 music? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Thanks for that, Ian. It's a shame that Shaun lost his afternoon show, even though I like Craig Charles on the radio. I thought 6 Music should never have taken him off the breakfast show and put him in the Radcliffe and Maconie afternoon slot. Both were very good in the afore mentioned and I felt the schedules were weakened because of it. Now, it's even more of a dog's breakfast, as 6Music tries to hook the yoof into the station. Horrible weekend offerings, apart from a couple of shows, like Guy Garvey, Iggy Pop, Tom Robinson, maybe the Freak Zone.
He has his own style and I was pleased that he mentioned Danny Baker, as he certainly has. Both, it seems, are yesterday's papers as far as the Beeb are concerned. They didn't like Kenny Everett either.
I used to listen to Shaun on XFM, too, when driving. Though strangely, I've never listened to him when he sits in for Liza, which he has on a few occasions. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Yes, for a little bit after the 'save 6Music' campaign the station had a pretty perfect line-up and record ratings. So in typical BBC fashion they messed around and now it doesn't work anymore. |

I started listening to 6 Music when Phil Jupitas did the breakfast programme - so quite a long time ago.
Not so much these days. |

Thanks Becky.
I think Phil Jupitas was in the breakfast slot at the start of 6 music. Or have I got that wrong? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Sorry M'Lud. It's Craig Charles who now has Shaun's afternoon slot. I did mention it in my previous post, but it was pretty easy to miss. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Yeah, Phill was the first breakfast presenter on 6Music. He's written a rather entertaining book about it, and how (spot the theme) he became disillusioned with BBC bosses over the 5 years he did it. |
