Mohamed Al Fayed has told the inquest that his son Dodi and Diana, Princess of Wales, were murdered and accused a BBC reporter of working for MI6.

Calling people names like Nazi's it's disgusting. He has no evidence it's all in his head and should really be careful what he's saying on English Soil.

This could cause a lot more than a conspiracy murder trail.

It's sad his son died and Princess Diana, but shouting and pointing his fingers will not do him any favours. For god sake where is the accusations coming from?

Let me say first that I've some sympathy for Mohammed El Fayed. I can't begin to imagine what it must have been like to lose his son.

That said, I am astonished that he can get away with the present charade.

Why is he being allowed to make wild accusations against all and sundry? Doesn't a coroner's court have any right to hold people in contempt of court in any circumstances?

Another point--Paul Burrell has now admitted lying whilst giving evidence. Isn't that tantamount to confessing the criminal offence of perjury? Is he to be prosecuted?

Ian.

Paul Burrell may say that he was being 'economical with the truth.' That last minute remembrance by The Queen about Diana's belongings that got him off the hook has always seemed odd to me. Rolling Eyes

Fayad said to a reporter who questioned him yesterday "I'm not talking to you anymore because you are an idiot". I think thats pretty much his attitude to anyone who disagrees with him.

I don't deny he has lost a son so has a mother lost her Daughter. She dosn't go around calling everyone names. He's a pathetic little man and people will think that now. It's a waste of tax payers money and shouldn't come too court. He needs his head tested. People could start suing him. I suppose the Royal Family will let it go over there heads. Now Al Fayed should go away

The man is completely away with the fairies, I can't believe he is getting away with saying all those things. I'm sorry he lost his son but it does not give him the right to start spouting stuff like this.

He's a sad man in all respects. The coroner, a man of legendary compassion, is allowing him to vent his grief in a way that he might not otherwise be allowed.
It is true that the expense of the inquest has arisen because of Al Fayed's contrary attitude, but that is another matter......and
To err is human, to forgive is divine...........

Mark, Diana's mother is no longer with us, so that would be a tad difficult!

Agree with your sentiments about MA-F, however. The D of E would sue if he could. Let's hope Fulham are relegated, he sells Harrods and disappears abroad for good.

The inquest into the death of Princess Diana is a "farce and a circus" that should be halted on national security and cost grounds, senior MPs said Thursday.

George Foulkes, a Labour member of the unelected upper House of Lords who sits on the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee, said the hearing was a "fruitless exercise" as all the claims had been aired before.

"It's becoming a farce and a circus and it will put the whole judicial system into disrepute if it continues," he told BBC radio, adding that many of the theories about the 1997 Paris car crash had been aired already.

A French judicial inquiry and a separate British police review of the crash both concluded it was an accident, caused by Diana and her lover Dodi Fayed's driver, Henri Paul, driving too fast whilst over the drink-drive limit.

But Fayed's father, Mohamed Al Fayed, maintains the couple were murdered as part of a plot by the British establishment and security services.

He told the inquest Monday the assassination had been carried out on the orders of Queen Elizabeth II's husband Prince Philip because of opposition to the mother of the future king marrying a Muslim and having a child by him.

The former head of Britain's overseas intelligence shadows, Richard Dearlove, came out of the shadows Wednesday to refute the allegations, describing them as "absurd" and a slur on both him and the secret service.

Foulkes, a former government minister, said he was concerned about the implications for national security after hearing that a number of serving MI6 officers would be giving evidence anonymously at the inquest next week.

He was backed by another committee member, Labour lawmaker Dari Taylor, who told The Times that calling the MI6 officers was "going far too far" at a time when the security services were already overworked.

"We understand Mr Fayed's grief. But the fact is that he has got to accept at some stage that there was nobody involved in his son's and princess Diana's death. It was an accident... There was no conspiracy," he said.

The former Foreign Office minister Denis MacShane also told the newspaper that Fayed had overstepped the mark, while a retired senior judge was also quoted as saying he was baffled as to why the MI6 officers had been called.

"To put servants of the country, whose identities should be protected, into this farcical proceeding is actually threatening their individual security," said MacShane.

"This is not only a farce, it is a contemptible abuse of British law and a scandalous waste of public money."
