Is anyone watching this serial, which is on BBC1 every night this week?

We watched it on Mon and Tues but missed last night's, which is now recorded.

It was talked well up in advance by the critics, but we're not quite sure yet what we think of it. I gather it's ruffled a few professional feathers at the Bar.

Young Ben Whishaw is doing a cracking good job as the lead. We'll be hearing a lot more of him in the future.

Ian.

Yes Ian. I am enjoying the programme. It has its flaws, but for the purposes of moving the drama along. I wonder what further part Pete Postlethwaite will play in the story. I can't see him not being involved in a brutal climax in the prison. Bill Paterson as the detective is so good in the role. David Harewood is excellent also, as the villain who runs the prison through terror and drugs. As to who did the murder I think it was......... Shocked

I'm also watching this programme and quite enjoying it. I just hope the ending is worth all of this build up and twists. And the lead man is doing a sterling job whilst Pete Poselthwaite is his usual best. Looking forward to the result!

I was correct about Pete Postlethwaite and the brutal climax with David Harewood in the prison. Even at five hours I felt the last episode was rushed towards the end. Con O'Neil's scruffy solicitor character deserves to have a spin-off series! Well done to all concerned I say!

I found the last episode slightly disappointing. Loose ends weren't all tied up and there was indeed an element of rush. But the acting was as compelling as ever.
