Just another alert thread for possiby interesting programmes of music on R2.
This is tonight (and on iplayer for a week)
1929 – Crash, Bang, Wallop
Tuesday 20 October on BBC RADIO 2
Kirsty Wark explores the remarkable artistic response to the Great Depression
There should be some mention of optimistic or escapist dance band tunes, films, west end or Broadway shows? e.g. Busby Berkeley and Harry Warren's tune "The Gold Diggers' Song (We're in the Money)" (1933)

For those who thought (as I did!) that this might be on at 1929 hrs, it's not. It's on at 2230 hrs.
