Sadly, our dear friend has passed.

Jeremy Vine paid a little tribute on the Up All Night show, an hour or so ago. He was a big fan.

I've been away and only heard the news on Steve Wright's show this afternoon while driving home. Such sad news.

I always thought Jeremy was a big fan of Desmond's and can recall him saying the family listened on several occasions. He said the same when there was a trail on his show Tuesday lunchtime.

I'll listen to both shows tomorrow hopefully.

I would think that Clare Teal will pay tribute to Desmond in her show tonight which goes out live. She appreciated the help he gave her in recommending and encouraging her to become a presenter.

I've recently been listening to a series of plays on Radio 4 Extra starring Cecil Parker and Sheila Sim . They're from the fifties so a little amateurish (by today's standards) in style but still enjoyable.

At the end of the latest one the announcer said that Desmond Carrington is in the next one...
