Been catching up on a pile of woman's magazines recently and read an interesting article about Liza in one of them. She's had lots of recent projects including a film and talked about her Radio 2 shows.
I know we often wish the presenter could have more say about the music played. Well for her Saturday shows at least she did! Apparently her producers were both female and let her have total choice of music. She says she was mindful of not making it too girly and slipped in a few tracks for the guys in every now and then. I thought the music when she sat in for J Ross was excellent so was interested to find it had been her own choice.
We'll have to wait and see for this Friday afternoon.

Hello Aitch,
Not long after Jonathan Ross took over the Saturday morning show, he had midweek colleague Sarah Kennedy in as a guest. The question of music came up and it was revealed that Sarah was told what to play on her show while Jonathan had a lot more freedom of choice. Perhaps, it being a weekend show was why Liza was allowed more musical choice. This Friday being a bank holiday, maybe she'll also be given more choice in the music played. Is she sitting in next week as well? If so, it will be interesting to compare Monday's (another holiday) show with the rest of the week. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I would imagine that one of the reasons that Sarah Kennedy doesn't select music for her shows is because she doesn't appear to know much about music if it's not from the shows. The music mix on SK's show is a bit odd, to say the least, and she rarely seems to know much - if anything - about either the music or artists that she's playing.
I heard today that the member of her production team who "sorts out her music" (as she says herself) is moving over to work on Eeeee Peeee's" show. |

It's Julie Newman who is Sarah's producer and she regularly gets the credit for her choices. She also used to do Ken Bruce's show.

And, if you were listening this morning, you will have heard that Julie is now moving on from the SK show. I always thought the music choice for SK's show was great, so it will be interesting to see how things change. |

Yes she started a new show on Sky One Called Liza and Huey's ( That be Huey Morgan) pet nations. She was brilliant in Watching the early days of her TV career. |

Well I think she's choosing the tracks herself today.
Frank Sinatra, and a not a well played track (You're Just Too Marvellous For Words) at that. Segued into I Fought The Law and The Law Won. Proving that you can mix the genres easily!
Nice selection so far Liza!

The music might have been ok but her chat between the songs was pretty poor.
Question-who was the poor side kick with her. He seemed to have trouble keeping up imo. |

Adam Buxton who has a show on 6 Music. I have a feeling she will be revealed as Ross replacement, but if not then she was just a stand-in. I can't understand why she needs to have a sidekick, because you always can't tell what a presenter sounds like on there own. |

I thought it was announced a while back that Claudia Winkleman is taking over from JR or did I just dream that?
