You can measure how much you're enjoying a programme when you don't want it to end and that's how I felt about Bill Kenwright's Golden Years ....some of the music I hadn't heard for ages and it was terrific to hear it again and the little stories that went along with the music were very entertaining...as far as I'm concerned,Bill, is on to a winner with this programme and it'll be a must listen to,for me, in the coming weeks ....

I heard something that Bill Kenwright did last year (was it in the "Beatles Bank Holiday" set last August?). He was good!
Haven't heard this, but will catch up on iPlayer when I get a mo. |

Becky, Colin
He did Paul O'Grady's show a couple of times last summer and was wonderful. I'm going to listen again as I knew I wouldn't last to the end of it.
Why do they put things on so late?

Lots of shows worthy of better timings are being buried in graveyard slots, I can't understand why they are doing this. I forgot to set the recorder and will catch it on listen again, was looking forward to it too! _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Forgot to record this but shall try to catch it in the weeks to come. Sounds to me that anyone who likes SOTS would take to this, too.

Just listening to this now, Becky and recording it too.
Some I've not heard before but others bring back so many memories, Tammy for one. I always think of an older cousin singing it all day long when we stayed with them. I was about 5 or 6 at the time LOL.

This programme continues to delight ......he played one of my favourite Johnny Cash songs....Ballad of a Teenage Queen..the version I've got though has Rosanne Cash and The Everlys singing with him.

I wouldn't have known that was Glen Campbell singing Turn Around Look At me .....his voice sounded different .....lovely song |

Hope you were listening last night Becky, he played Bobby Rydell's Forget Him....... and also Billy Fury's version at the end!
The best in the series so far I think!

I saw the statue of Billy Fury Bill was talking about when I visited Liverpool last year..... |

I heard last night's too Becky and love the Folk Singer. Missed the first couple of songs, might listen again.
Can't believe there are only 2 more episodes left, 10 weeks have certainly flown over.
