Surely the way for her to be made warm is for her to wear her winter woolies?
As for the welcome, I think think on pass on that one. |

I am puzzled by this. Shall I send her some thermals? Perhaps I could let her borrow my duvet? On second thoughts, I'll stick to PM. _________________ MiS |

Did they pick the wrong one? At least Richard Allinson & co would give going home life - no thank-you. |

I think Liza T is brilliant. Cool, dry and understated. She could do with losing that hypersports guy though, blimey, he needs to calm down. |

I agree. What is this obsession that radio stations have with the special (and often hyperactive) "sports reporter" on every flipping show? |

Listened to Lisa Tarbuck's interview with Tom Jones tonight, and couldn't decide whether she was taking the p(roverbial) with him. If she wasn't she was fawning fit to bust. I find her style very strange, very contrived, over-enunciated. She has a good rapport with Sally though.
Certainly Tom Jones didn't do himself any favours, sounded so completely up himself it wasn't true! I'm glad he's stopped dyeing his hair though, much better grey. He still looks to me as though his head's about to burst though! Weird! _________________ Minx

Yay! My postcard made it! Liza is now part of a pretty special group of just six people on my hand-drawn postcard list. |

I'm disappointed that Stuart doesn't cover as much on R2 as he used to. Surely it makes more sense for him to cover Simon Mayo than it did to cover for Evans. |

I guess it's the cost implements bringing staff to London. This is probarly why Mark Radcliffe was dropped from covering Steve Wright? |

If you consider the cost 'implements' of bringing Mark R to London, versus the cost 'implications' of taking the Breakfast TV staff up to Salford on a full time basis, I would have said it was no contest, Mark.
But that's just me. _________________ Minx

Surely getting someone on contract to do more days would be cheaper than getting someone in on freelance for a few weeks? |

Thats a female thing liking another female presenter. I like a lot of female presenters, although Liza does come across very patronising. Thats probarly the way she is. |

I disagree Mark
On this forum female members generally seem to dislike women presenters more than most male members do
Every presenter should be judged on merit whatever gender they may be _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

There's no evidence to support the first theory.
Are you sure you've got Liza Tarbuck in mind with the second, and not someone else much earlier in the day? _________________ Ron |

I don't think it is, Mark. There are female presenters that I don't care for as presenters on Radio, nice people though they are some women on the radio are unlistenable. Liza T Patronising? Gosh no. Perhaps a little metropolitan at times in a “ladies that lunch” kind of way but I like that. Her humour is quite deep too. Liza T is cool beans! |

I very rarely listen to drivetime any more (or any other weekday programming on R2, for that matter) because I'm bored to tears with Simon Mayo but I think Liza Tarbuck's OK. She has a good sense of humour and a dirty laugh........ which makes any bird OK in my books. |

You're completely wrong with that assumption Mark. There are very few female presenters I will listen to as I've said on numerous occasions before on this very board.
For one thing Liza doesn't gabble.

Caught the last half-hour of tonight's show and it was desperate stuff. No rapport with the other presenters or guests, a witty "text and e-mail subject" reduced to indifferent tedium and more awkward silences than a Marcel Marceau concert...
And this goes on for another two weeks? |

Only heard bits of the first hour and I was disappointed too Ian. She was much better last time. Maybe it's what the producers want she is capable and usually is much better.
I wasn't really in the mood for the Nolans so switched off after 6.

He would get as many moans as Liza gets on this board. To be honest I don't think he's right for that show these days as the show has changed so much. Don't get me wrong, I like Richard Allinson!

It doesn't really matter who covers from whom. Daytime Radio 2 (from the moment that Alex Lester signs off until mid-evening) is now rubbish. That's all that can really be said. |
