This bloke has only been in the UK for less than a day and already his medieval religious dogma is making him even more enemies than he already has. You'd think he'd want to play it safe after one of his cardinals yesterday decided to pull out of today's papal visit ("on health grounds") following a stupid comment which likened the UK to a third-world country. There's me thinking that it was his church that helped to keep third-world populations conveniently poor and uneducated in order to achieve eternal salvation in heaven...

As an atheist who is nonetheless respectful of people's personal religious and cultural beliefs, I'm getting a bit annoyed with him. In fact I'd much prefer it if he were to shut up and go home.

See this BBC news story for the detail.

I'am not over excited about the visit. Watching the news and a mother lifting her baby upto the window of the pope mobile letting him kiss the her child makes me very angry. This is my opinion and I have got many watching this event unfold.

I don't believe I have at any point heard him say "sorry I was wrong to cover up Paedophiles within the church"?
maybe I missed it, I'd love to be in London tomorrow for the march, but a little far away and working for a start. Sad
I have nothing against people with faith but not even catholics stick to some of THIS popes teachings.

condoms spread AIDS, one of my favorites

As a lapsed catholic i do worry about the church and some of the things that have happened and i agree that nobody can live to the teachings of it.
I do however know people that take solace in religon and it makes them happy.
On the otherhand i think that religon causes a lot more problems than answers
