| Steve Wright sidekick and broadcaster Tim Smith will be hosting Early Breakfast from the 15th November. I remember when he used to host Early breakfast on Radio 1. |

I like Tim when he presents on his own. I used to listen to him over on Radio 1 early breakfast, and when he was on Melody / Magic London.
Back on Radio 1 Tim used to present Weekend early breakfast between April 1989 and January 1990. Early breakfast during the week, between April 89 & September 90 did use to run from 5-6.30am. |

Funnily enough, we were debating this earlier. I was saying that he presented Weekend early breakfast between April 1989 and January 1990. My wife, however, reckoned it was between May1989 and February 1990. I told her that couldn't be true, so we asked her best friend, who disagreed with both of us by declaring that she distinctly remembered it being between February 1989 and June 1990. In fact, it was my opinion that the early breakfast show ran between April 88 & August 90 used to run from 5-6.30am, but my wife's best friend argued that it was indeed between April 89 & September 90 did used to run from 5-6.30am. So it looks like you might be right, Mark.
I think we all need a pint or three after all that lot!
Anyhow, enough of all that. I think the paint is dry now.

It wasn't a brain wave. I just looked it up on a website which gives out old Radio 1 schedules, and I couldn't be sure if he ever did Early breakfast during the week. He may have covered a few times, but thats not listed.  |
