Whilst driving home on Saturday – I had Graham Norton on the radio – he’s quite good when you really listen to him. I was on my own- bright sun, the A30 was completely empty, so it, was rather pleasant. I digress: Sarah Beeny was a guest on the show- talking about – well, mainly restoring some old pile of rubble near Hull, no not John Prescott: a building of some sort- an old Stately Home in fact. Are there any new Stately Homes? There’s a TV programme about it too. It turns out that Lord Sugar is right again. “There is no such thing as an expert”. It seems she made the same mistakes that she points out so often on that, is it property ladder programme, she does. She paid too much, tried to do too much in too short a time with too little money and had a baby right in the middle. Brilliant! She took it well though. It’s worth a listen on the I-player. |

Well it wouldn't have made for an interesting/entertaining TV programmer if she'd done everything right and all had gone smoothly.
New stately homes - that's a gap in the market just waiting to be filled.
Not as daft as it sounds - a local businessman has just won a struggle for planning consent to buld a multi-million pound eco-friendly home that looks like it's just dropped in from the next century, in the middle of the countryside. Perhaps he'll offset some of the cost in these hard-up times by doing conducted tours.
As for GN. He's better some weeks than others, not that I hear much of it most Saturdays. I like his agony column in the Telegraph. _________________ Ron |

Sarah Beeny and her fella actually bought a ramshackle dump of a place that had certainly seen better days. Not a project I would have taken on!
And she's used to being pregnant during shooting schedules - she's always pregnant, it would appear!!! |
